SLIVEN NEWS: Donate Food – Help a Large Bulgarian Family. Christmas is You!

Every year children and adults celebrate Christmas. Everywhere there is a variety of colorful decorations and lights, covered table and piles, piles of gifts. But then, on this day we recall the eternal and essential things of life, remembering that life is full when you not only consume, but also give away.
Against the background of the Christmas adornment and overcrowded malls stand out rubbish containers with waste food sticking out. And some people just have a bite to satiate their hunger. So, National Movement ‘Bulgaria is You!’ challenges you – give hope for the holidays with the ‘Christmas is You!’ initiative. The Movement organizes a campaign to raise funds to purchase food for the festive table of large Bulgarian families (not just those who are “under the wing” of the Movement, but also others). The aim is to restore hope to the Bulgarians and to do so that there is no empty table of the poor mothers and fathers blessed with many children on Christmas.
In the package we will put food essentials that we will distribute personally to the homes of the people in need, just before Christmas Eve. The initiative will involve celebrities, founders and members of ‘Bulgaria’s you!’.
The initiative is carried out under our Programme ‘Support for large families’. The Programme’s aim is to provide specific financial and moral support for large Bulgarian families. This is implemented through organizational activities and assistance in solving domestic, social and labour problems of Bulgarian citizens from large families, as well as problems related to the education of their children.
We consider kindness as one of the basic duties of man and place it on a par with human and civil rights and freedoms. Because citizens do not only have rights, but also duties to their country and to other members of society. Their primary responsibility is to create and do good. We believe that we must act rather than sit and wait for the “good” to happen by itself! We help until there are people in need!
