FOCUS IA: 25 Students from Sliven District Have Been Announced Winners at the National Education Initiative ‘Colour Olympics’

25 students from 8 to 12 grade have been announced winners at the National Education Initiative ‘Colour Olympics’ in Sliven District, said for Focus Radio Zdravka Hristova, National Coordinator of National Movement ‘Bulgaria is You!’. The children competed in Bulgarian Language and Literature, English and German, Maths and Information Technology. The event was organized by the National Movement ‘Bulgaria is You!’. The competition was held in the following schools – 11th High School ‘Konstantin Konstantinov’, Vocational School of Electrical Engineering and Electronics’, ‘Marie Curie’, Sliven Vocational School of Construction and Geodesy ‘Arch. Georgi Kozarov’, Vocational School of Mechanization – Sliven, Vocational School of Agriculture – Nova Zagora, Vocational School of Engineering and Technology – Nova Zagora. The competitors were students from grades 8 to 12 and they all participated voluntarily. The students from Sliven preferred Bulgarian Language and Literature mostly, while their peers from Yambol preferred Maths more, explained Zdravka Hristova.
The winners will be awarded at a special ceremony by renowned and leading personalities in different spheres of public life. The ceremony will take place tonight at 6 pm in the Hall of the Scientific and Technical Union (STU). Bobo and Santra will sing for the participants and guests. Students from the schools participating in the competition will show models and mock-ups, there will be a Christmas bazaar with cards, songs and dances. The ceremony tonight is expected to be attended by our World Champion in rowing Victoria Dimitrova, representatives of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Regional Inspectorate of Education (RIE) – Sliven, Nikolay Sirakov, Director of the Regional History Museum Sliven, Daniela Nencheva, Director of the Art Gallery ‘Dimitar Dobrovich.
‘At the end of the school year 2013 – 2014 the winners will participate in the National competition over the Internet between the leaders from all the cities. Each winner will receive a personal code that gives them access to the tests. For the winners of the national round many awards are provided’, said Zdravka Christova.
